pumpkins (let me preface this by saying i hate pumpkins)

I carved my first ever pumpkin today. And I didn’t cut myself kill myself. My finger is bleeding.

I’m going to get so much hate mail for this, but I hate pumpkins. The smell and the taste. Ick.

But carving pumpkins is such a fall thing to do, so I had to do it. Because fall is my favorite season ever.

Also, I decided I will be Twiggy for Halloween. A much less skinny Twiggy. Because no one on this Earth is as skinny as Twiggy.

my snippets of fall

I love fall.

But it’s supposed to snow tonight. I KNOW.

It was so cold out today I had to bring out the (faux) leopard fur coat. IT’S BACK, PEOPLE!

And speaking a cold, I think I’m getting one…meh. I can’t be sick over Halloween weekend! I’m in COLLEGE, guys.

Oh and also. Mikos went to the vet. He’s a healthy little thing. Except he has a small hernia that will be removed once we get him neutered. Nothing to worry about. I love my puppy.

My favorite things about fall:

(1) Starbucks chai tea lattes

(2) Crunchy leaves on the ground

(3) Beautifully colored yellow, orange and red trees

(4) Cozy knit sweaters

(5) Super crisp apples

(6) Lace-up boots

(7) Chunky knit scarves

(8) Socks

(9) The crisp morning air

(10) Oatmeal on chilly mornings (although I eat it year-round)

(11) Fireplaces and hot chocolate (this could be a “winter favorite,” too)

(12) Thanksgiving (so much to be thankful for!)

(13) Halloween, the most fun holiday in college, hands down (Halloween of 2009, my freshman year, brings so many memories of Mike and I!) (I will be an Egyptian pharaoh-ess this year!)

(14) Yummy comfort food like grilled cheese with tomato soup and homemade mac ‘n cheese

(15) Falling asleep to the sound of the rain

(16) New television seasons!

It’s the little things in life, right?

p.s. my friends and I just secured a lease for next year! I’ll write more about this later. Yay! I cannot wait.

thoughts, lately

(1) Mike came to visit this weekend. He’s amazing. Period. Our two year anniversary is so so soon! Who would’ve thought, you know? I have a few surprises planned for the kid but I won’t say anything here in case he reads…

(2) At the risk of sounding totally gross, there’s something really wrong with my stomach. In the past month, I’ve lost almost 10 lbs (which is a lot on someone who’s already small like me) and around three pant sizes. Without even trying. And my stomach is upset and hurts so bad all the time. I hope I can get to the bottom of this soon because if I keep it up I will start to look really too thin…

(3) I’m already stressing out about summer internships. Overachiever, much?

(4) I found the perfect dress for my anniversary down on Marshall Street. It’s totally vintage-meets-bombshell. I should buy it tomorrow.

(5) I can’t wait for Halloween. I think I’m going to be an Egyptian pharaoh (or whatever the female equivalent to it is) or something. I found these AWESOME eye of Horus masks on etsy. And I just really want them for Halloween.

(6) It’s already October!? Not that I’m complaining in the slightest; I love fall.

(7) Brookstone blankets have got to be the comfiest, softest, warmest thing ever. Which is perfect, especially when it gets cold outside…

(8) I’m kind of obsessed with the movie Sybil. And so are my roommate and our neighbor. Who recommended it to me again? It was a blog reader.

(9) I’m tired. Off to bed I go.
