(1) a fancy night at the Hilton in Times Square, courtesy of Mike

(2) Mikos’ first trip to the big city!

(3) “Mikos, mommy is going to work here someday.” (RIGHT? RIGHT!? Some fancy editor will read my blog and hire me. Because I’m just so charming. You know. And my puppy is so cute.)

(4) fluffy puppy in the park. Albany, NY

(6) anniversary gifts from Mike

You guys, I’m zonked. I learned so much about myself and my relationship this weekend. I love Mike.

(1) Scones that my friend Julie’s mom baked for us. Delish.

(2) The MoMA.

(3) Wish tree at the MoMA. This wasn’t my wish but I still liked it.

(4) Julie’s vintage distressed high-waisted shorts. Love.

(5) Washington Square Park.

(6) The nut butter aisle at Whole Foods. So basically, my favorite place in the world.

(7) I taught Julie how to hail a taxi. Because she’s from The Middle of Nowhere, New Hampshire.

(8) New swag I got at the Met! Two ancient Egypt-inspired rings and a baby Alexander McQueen shoe (I die of cuteness). Thanks Marissa Joy for telling me I didn’t actually have to pay $50 to get into the exhibit! It was amazing. And kind of creepy. Just like McQueen himself.

(1) A Beast ride with views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the new World Trade Center, and other New York City landmarks.

(2) A (way too long and very very interesting) train ride to the Jersey Shore. Interesting because this man (who legitimately looked like he could pull a knife on me) decided it was his duty to be the DJ for the entire train and kept playing music from his phone (no headphones!) at full volume. RUDE. I have no idea what the songs were about, but one of them kept saying HOLLABACK! I don’t think my description can do the situation justice (and here I thought I was a good writer).

(3) Seaside Heights, as seen on MTV’s incredibly classy and educational show, Jersey Shore.

(4) Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. The view was incredible!

(5) Baked By Melissa cupcakes. Baby cupcakes = love. Look at how happy my sister looks! We love little things. And we love cupcakes.

Besides all the events pictured above, we went to the midnight Harry Potter premiere (I am a huge fan of the books; the movies are okay. But now I want to read the series all over again. When I was younger I was one of those Harry Potter freaks that went on websites like mugglenet.com all the time. Yep. Awkward confession). I’ve also been through a bit of a roller coaster with a friend (ex-friend?). Whatever. I don’t want to talk about it and I’m glad it’s just me and my sister now.

So sorry I went MIA for a while! I’ll comment on all your blogs as soon as I can.

a recap in pictures

As much as I love to write, I think that sometimes, it is better to simply let the pictures do the talking. When I’m out having fun with friends, I shouldn’t have to worry about remembering every noteworthy thing that happens just so that I have something to blog about. Therefore, I introduce you to a new feature on Debbie Cutie Face: “a recap in pictures.” For when I’m too busy enjoying life to think about my next blog post.

(1) A long hour and a half walk to Penn Station, because sometimes taking the subway or a taxi is boring. Hey, it counts as exercise, right?

(2) An equally long but much more boring train ride to Long Island.

(3) “Chips, dips and sips” (i.e. crackers, hummus and wine…and amazing conversation!) with the best friend from school. Her mom wanted to try out her new chocolate chip cookie scented candle. It suddenly made the ambiance very…date-like. We had a good laugh about it.

(4) A beautiful day spent by the beach in the Hamptons with said best friend.

(5) Walking, shopping and dining in Westhampton with friend.

(6) New evil eye necklace. By the way? I’m all for mixing metals.

(7) Playing with best friend’s puppies and younger siblings. Very cute pictures of kids but not posting because I don’t know if their mom would be okay with that.

All right guys. Time for me to hit the sack.
