Hello.
I am Debbie. 20 years old. I go to school in Siberia Syracuse University. Did you know it’s the worst winter city in America? Well, now you know.
It’s okay because I like the snow (as long as I get to stay in bed). And skiing.
But fall is my favorite season.
I am a junior majoring in magazine journalism with a minor in sociology and a specialization in fashion and beauty communications.
Enough about Syracuse.
I’ve lived in many places and three different countries: Israel, Costa Rica and the United States.
My dad Papi and my younger sister Ariela live in Costa Rica, still. As well as our dog, a Yorkie named Justin Bobby. Not Justin Bieber. Justin Bobby, from The Hills. Although I do love me some Biebs.
I want to be like Ariela when I grow up.
I have recovered from an eating disorder and sexual, verbal and emotional abuse. I do not talk to my mother.
I have a boyfriend. His name is Mike. He is Egyptian. But he has dirty blonde hair and the most gorgeous blue eyes. All I have to say to that is: the milkman.
Mike bought me a Siberian husky puppy. His name is Mikos. We both like Greek things. And Greece.
A lot.
I love to travel.
I was a gymnast for 10 years. I still follow the sport and love it with all my heart. I am mildly obsessed with Soviet-era gymnastics. And by mildly I mean extremely.
I am extremely accident-prone.
I also have Crohn’s disease.
Writing is my favorite thing in the world. I also like photography and street fashion.
My dream is to move to New York City after I graduate from college.
I have a longstanding love affair with Nutella.
And hamsas and evil eyes. I even have a hamsa tattooed on to the inside of my right wrist. I love it.
And speaking of tattoos. My friend Matt tattooed “Debbie Cutie Face” in the inside of his lip. I’m that famous. But really, he may or may not have lost a beer water pong bet against me.
I’m addicted to Etsy and online shopping. It’s a problem.
That is all you need to know about me. I think.

Wow, your major/concentration sounds so exciting! I love journalism and might like to go into it after college. Plus beauty concentration + sociology? How interesting!
Ditto. I would LOVE to do Journalism…but almost 30 and in debt from 2 degrees – that ain’t happening.
Good luck with everything!
